The Colours of Humanity and its youth category ("the Prize”) , administered by Justice Centre Hong Kong (“Justice Centre”), is open to all Hong Kong residents with the exception of Justice Centre staff and board members. In order to be judged in the youth competition, artwork will need to be submitted in the “Youth” category. The Prize does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race or ethnicity, color, immigration status, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, artistic training or background.
The Prize is open to original artwork in any media. All work entered must be the original work of the exhibitor and proof may be required at the sole discretion of the judges and directors of the HKHRAP 2022.
The theme of the Prize is open to interpretation by the artist and it is not a requirement that the work deal specifically with situations in Hong Kong but we encourage people to consider themes including ‘LGBT rights’, ‘Refugee life in Hong Kong’, and ‘Visions of an inclusive society’
We request that all works submitted are fully compliant with Hong Kong laws, including the National Security Law. Please be aware that works considered to be in breach of any law are ineligible for the Prize.
All prizes will be awarded by a one-time vote of the judges as follows: the work receiving the highest number of votes in each category is the winner of the Prizey. The decision of Justice Centre on all matters relating to the judging, vote and competition will be final. Justice Centre staff and judges are not obliged or bound to enter into any communication whatsoever regarding such decision. Artists or their representatives are forbidden to approach judges regarding their entry prior to the prize announcement; doing so will result in immediate disqualification.
